Rooted, Not Shaken

PSALM 1:3 — KJV

Photo by Zetong Li on Unsplash

“And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.”

KEY MESSAGE

A life planted near God doesn't rush its fruit — it just stays rooted.

REFLECTION

A tree does not strain to produce fruit. It simply stays planted, drawing from a source it did not create, and the fruit comes in its own season.

So much of our spiritual anxiety comes from trying to force fruit on a timeline we set. This Psalm offers a different rhythm: stay near the water, and trust the season.

Faith, in this picture, isn't frantic. It's rooted — quietly confident that nearness to God is never wasted, even when nothing visible seems to be happening yet.

TODAY'S QUESTION

What would it look like this week to focus on staying planted rather than forcing fruit?

PRAYER

Father, plant me by Your water. I don't want to strain for fruit that only comes from staying near You. Teach me the patience of a rooted life. Amen.

Amen.
